Not all the possums that live in the Botanic Gardens care for Shakespeare. Many of our movie-buff marsupials eagerly await the summertime return of Moonlight Cinema. While they watch from the comfort of their trees, humans are encouraged to bring a rug or hire a Bead Bed from the venue. You can also bring a picnic dinner or buy food and drink from the on-site catering. Tonight's screening is the big-screen version of Miami Vice, with the classic comedy, The Philadelphia Story tomorrow. There are also free outdoor screenings on Friday and Saturday nights at dusk, on the giant LCD screen at Waterfront City, with the Melbourne skyline in the background. The 1984 creature-feature Gremlins screens tonight, a flick about the ultimate Christmas present - just don't get it wet or feed it after midnight. -- ROHAN TROLLOPE
