The 2004 Sydney Festival opens with a free outdoor family show, Of Angels and Light, which promises to transform Sydney Olympic Park into a magical Italian piazza. A dazzling lightshow and a supernatural circus act, this theatrical extravaganza from Italy promises to captivate young and old alike.
A perennial favourite of festival-goers, Moonlight Cinema is synonymous with summer in Sydney. Enjoy a sundown picnic while watching a new release or classic film on the big screen at Centennial Park.
Skipping on Stars is the latest production from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus and tells the story of Indigenous Australian Cornelius Sullivan, who became a world-famous tightwire artist. Showing at Parramatta's Riverside Theatre January 21-22 at 7pm, and January 23-24 at 1pm and 7pm.
Experience the all-star Sydney Festival Jazz Orchestra at the free Jazz in the Domain concert on January 17.
Shake your groove thing at the Bacardi Latino Festival in Darling Harbour. From January 8 to 18 you can have a free Latin dance lesson, then dance the night away to the strains of some of Australia's best-known Latin bands.
